Restrict a widget

With Pro, every classic widget gets a Who can see this widget option. A widget is a box in a sidebar or footer, such as a menu, a text or a login link. Choose who sees it and save.

Set who can see a widget

1. Go to Appearance > Widgets.
2. Open the widget you want to restrict.
3. In Who can see this widget, pick one of Everyone, Logged in users, Logged out visitors or Certain roles only.
4. With Certain roles only, tick the roles in the list below.
5. Click Save.

A visitor who does not match does not receive the widget at all.

Good to know

• The option appears in classic widgets, the ones used by most themes with sidebars. Block themes do not use widgets: there, use per-block visibility.
• In the free version the option is disabled and every widget is visible. A setting made during the trial is kept and works again when a licence is active.
• Administrators see every widget unless you switch off Administrators always see everything in Settings.
