Settings
Go to Content Gate > Settings to change four options that apply to every rule, then click Save settings.
Administrators
Administrators always see everything (on by default). Leave it on while you build the rules: it stops a wrong rule from locking you out of your own site. Switch it off for a few minutes when you want to check what a visitor really sees from your own account, then switch it back on.
Attachment pages
Apply the rules to attachment pages too (on by default). WordPress can create a page for each uploaded file. This option applies your rules to those pages.
This covers the page that shows a file, not the file itself. A PDF in the media library keeps its own direct address, which no plugin can close from inside WordPress. If those files must be private, they should not be in the media library.
Hiding by screen size
Load the three lines of CSS that hide blocks per screen size (on by default). It is needed only if you use the Hide on option in the block editor (see Restrict a single block). It is a few lines of styling code added to the page, not an extra file.
Default message
Text shown by any rule that shows a message but has no message of its own. Handy when several rules should say the same thing. If it is empty too, visitors read This content is reserved.
