Redirects · WordPress redirect and 404 plugin

Old links that still lead somewhere

And every page that is missing, on one list

Send visitors and Google from an old address to the new one with a 301, without touching the server. Every address that answers “page not found” lands in a log, counted and with the page that links to it: one click and it has a redirect.

We changed one address and half the links broke.

After the new site, Google keeps sending people to pages that no longer exist.

A customer sent us a link from an old newsletter. It ends on a 404.

I renamed a page and forgot. Who knows how many visits we lost.

One subscription for every plugin

For every site that has ever changed an address

Sites after a redesign

Import the list of old and new addresses, then watch the 404 log for the ones you missed. Visitors and search engines find their way, and the ranking follows.

Shops and blogs that grow

Rename a product, move an article to another category: the old address keeps working by itself, with no rule to write.

Web designers and agencies

Regular expressions for whole sections, CSV for site moves and a weekly email of broken links for every client site, with Pro.

Redirects you can see, broken links you can fix

Everything happens inside WordPress: no .htaccess to edit, nothing to ask your hosting.

Unlimited redirects

301, 302, 307 and 410 for pages that are gone for good. One indexed lookup per page, so even thousands of rules do not slow the site.

Automatic when an address changes

Change the slug of a page, an article or a product, or move a page: the old address leads to the new one, sub-pages included. Chains are shortened by themselves.

A 404 log that makes sense

One row per address, not per visit: how many times, first and last time, the page that links to it. Bots stay out, and no IP address is kept.

One click from 404 to redirect

“Create redirect” on any row opens the form with the old address filled in. Write the new one and the row leaves the log.

Campaign links stay whole

utm_source, gclid and the other parameters pass on to the new address. Capital letters and the final slash do not matter, unless you want them to.

Regex, CSV and a weekly email

With Pro: one rule for a hundred addresses, hundreds of redirects imported from a spreadsheet, and the new broken links in your inbox every week.

Questions before you install

Everything you need so old addresses keep working is free: unlimited redirects, automatic redirects when an address changes, the 404 log with one-click fix and the visit counter. Pro adds regular expressions, CSV import and export, search, a weekly email of new broken links and a 404 log kept up to a year.

No. Each page asks the database one indexed question, whatever the number of redirects. The 404 log writes only when a page is missing, one row per address.

Yes, with Pro: export them to CSV from the old plugin or from a spreadsheet, with the old and the new address, and import the file. Addresses already in the list are skipped.

It does not crawl your pages looking for broken links inside the content, and it does not write rules in .htaccess or nginx: redirects run in WordPress. To move a whole domain to another, a rule on the server is still the right tool.
