Content modules

The Content group fills small gaps in how WordPress handles posts, pages and media. Switch each module on from its card in WP Plus+ > Modules.

Duplicate a page or post

Adds a Duplicate link to the lists of posts, pages and custom content types.

1. Switch the module on.
2. Go to Posts > All Posts or Pages > All Pages.
3. Hover over the row you want to copy and click Duplicate.
4. WordPress opens the copy in the editor, ready to change.

The copy is saved as a draft, with you as author, and includes the content, excerpt, parent page, order, categories, tags and custom fields (so the page template and featured image come along too). The title gets a suffix, set in Added to the title of the copy (default (copy)).

Allow SVG uploads

SVG is a vector image format, often used for logos, that stays sharp at any size. WordPress refuses SVG files by default because they can contain code. This module lets the roles you choose upload them, and cleans each file as it arrives.

• Roles allowed to upload SVG: by default only Administrator. Keep this list short.
• On upload, scripts, event handlers (such as onclick), links to external addresses and elements such as foreignObject, iframe, animate and use are removed, and the cleaned file is saved.
• Users with another role see Your role is not allowed to upload SVG files.
• A damaged file is refused with This SVG could not be read, so it was not uploaded.

Open external links in a new tab

Every link in your post and page content that points to another site opens in a new tab. The module adds target="_blank" and rel="noopener noreferrer" as the page is sent to the visitor; your saved content is not changed, so switching it off restores everything.

• Links to your own site are left alone. A different subdomain (for example shop.yoursite.com) counts as another site.
• Links that already have a target are left alone.
• It works on the main content of posts and pages, not on menus or widgets.
• Option Add rel="nofollow" as well: tells search engines you are not vouching for the linked site. Off by default.

Publish posts that missed their schedule

WordPress publishes scheduled posts only when someone visits the site. On a quiet site a post can stay stuck as Missed schedule. With this module on, every visit to the public site checks for scheduled content whose time has passed and publishes it (up to 20 items per visit). It has no options.
