Pro: links and elements per language

With Pro a button can open the English brochure on the English site and the Italian one on the Italian site. The rules are in Translate > Custom rules.

In a translated version, every link to a first address goes to a second one instead. For example, on the English site /files/brochure-it.pdf becomes /files/brochure-en.pdf. It works for PDFs, external pages, or a page of the site written directly in that language.

Single elements

For one button or one piece of text: in a translated version, the element gets the text and/or the link you write. Point at it with its CSS class or id.

How to give a button a class

  • Block editor: select the button, then Advanced > Additional CSS class(es).
  • Elementor: Advanced > CSS Classes.
  • Divi: Advanced > CSS ID & Classes.

Example: the brochure button

  1. Give the button "Download the brochure" the class brochure.
  2. In Single elements, add a row for English with the selector .brochure and the link to the English PDF.
  3. Open the page in /en/: the button now opens the English PDF, while the Italian site keeps the Italian one.
