Pro: regular expressions
Tick The old address is a regular expression in the redirect form. The expression is written without delimiters and is compared with the path only, without the parameters. Groups in brackets become $1, $2 in the new address.
| Old address | New address | Effect |
|---|---|---|
^/blog/(.*)$ | /news/$1 | Every article of the blog moves to /news/ |
^/(\d{4})/(\d{2})/(.*)$ | /$3 | From date permalinks (/2024/05/title) to /title |
^/shop/category/(.*)$ | /product-category/$1 | The categories of an old shop |
Exact redirects are checked first, then regular expressions in the order they were created. To compare the parameters too, write \? in the expression. An invalid expression is refused when you save it.
