Set up the banner in five minutes
The plugin starts with safe settings, so the banner already works. These five steps make it look like your site and close the last gaps.
- Position and colours. Open Cookie Consent > Banner. Click one of the small drawings under Position, then pick a colour preset or set single colours. The preview on the right is the real banner and changes as you go.
- Save. Click Save changes at the bottom. Until you save, the site keeps the previous look.
- Cookie policy. If the Banner tab shows The banner has no cookie policy to link to yet, open Settings and click Create the page, or choose your existing page under Cookie policy page.
- A way to change the choice. Keep the small round button on, or put the
[nopdcc_preferences]shortcode in your footer. Visitors must be able to change their mind at any time. - Check as a visitor. Open the site in a private window. The banner appears, and a YouTube video on the page shows a box until you accept.
Logged in as an administrator you see the banner too, unless you switched on Hide the banner from logged-in users in Settings. That option also stops blocking for logged-in users, so leave it off while you test.
