Import stores from Excel or CSV
The file
One row per store, with a header row. Name and address are enough. Optional columns: city, ZIP, region, country, phone, email, website, hours, description, category, latitude, longitude, an external ID and a marker. Download the CSV or XLSX template from the Import tab. Both .xlsx (first sheet or the one you choose) and .csv are accepted; for CSV the delimiter (comma, semicolon, tab) and the encoding (UTF-8, Windows-1252 and others) are detected.
The three steps
- Upload the file.
- Match the columns. Headers in English, Italian, French, Spanish or German are recognised on their own. You see a preview of the first rows. Choose the category column, or give every row the same category. In the category column
Shops > Milancreates a sub-category andShops | Outletsassigns two categories; missing categories are created. - Import. It runs in batches with a progress bar. Rows without coordinates are located from their address, one per second. If you have latitude and longitude in the file, it is instant.
After the import
You get a report: created, skipped duplicates, located and rejected rows. Rejected rows (for example an address that cannot be found) can be downloaded as a CSV with the reason; fix them and import that file. Duplicates are recognised by external ID, or by name, address, city and ZIP, and are skipped. With Pro, re-importing updates existing stores instead, and a sync mode can move stores missing from the file to the trash after a preview.
