Install the free version and press the button on the Licence page. For seven days every module runs, with no card and no automatic renewal. At the end the site goes back to five at a time: nothing is deleted, and every module you configured keeps its settings. The trial runs once per site.
The first five you switched on keep running and the rest stop, with every option still stored and the card saying so. Nothing is deleted and nothing is emptied. No. Some modules make a site harder to bother, moving the login address, limiting failed attempts, closing XML-RPC, and each says exactly how much that is worth.
